Worship and Town Halls

Joy and delight are infectious gifts of the Holy Spirit, and they are growing at All Saints. There is much that your Vestry and our clergy team have been doing to strengthen our capacity, heal and fix previously broken systems, and grow our witness and fellowship. But we also know that our community, while strong, tends to be small, and some feel distant from decision-making processes.

You are receiving this email because I want to specifically invite you to a special series of Worship + Town Halls during the month of October.  Every Sunday in October we will gather at 3:30pm at All Saints’ Church for worship and a town hall-style conversation about the future shape of All Saints. You will see notice of these gatherings in the Thursday morning newsletter, but I am sending this message to you, specifically, because our Vestry and I have identified you as an active, engaged, regularly-present member of All Saints Church.

Fellowship Time

Please join us for coffee and fellowship directly after worship. We look forward to getting to know you!

Sign-up sheets are available in the back of the church if you are interested in making a donation to coffee hour!

 Bible Study Before Worship

This week, we will be continuing our Epiphany study by thinking about who Jesus is and how his teachings amaze us.

Weekly Bible Study

Weekly bible study resumes next Thursday, Sept. 5 -- 10am upstairs at Church of the Ascension. All are welcome! No prior reading is required. Just God's people and God's Word -- seeking greater understanding and true inspiration. This year, we'll study Paul's letter to the Romans. Not only is it Paul's great theological masterpiece, Romans is in many ways the 'hinge' of the bible: pulling all of the threads from the Old Testament, pointing to Jesus as Christ, and directing God's people into a more glorious future. Join us in this year-long exploration!

MUSIC AT POPLAR HILL

JAMES MARTIN’S TYRE ISLE BAND: Traditional Music of Ireland, Scotland, England and the Hebrides

Concertgoers and students find a wide array of musical styles at Music from Poplar Hill concerts and educational programs, including music of cultures from around the world. This November, James Martin arrives with his Tyre Isle Band. These amazing musicians live and breathe the folk music of the British Isles, delving deeply into the original melodies and rhythms and adding to the living repertoire with music they have composed in that beloved tradition.
